Characteristics: Without any upstream mountain ranges, the Hoch Plattenstock rises directly from the plain of the Chiemsee moors. Even a small difference in altitude offers distant views over the entire Chiemgau, which become more extensive as you climb further.

The Hochplatte (1583 m) is a beautiful Chiemgau hiking mountain! From the
mountain station on the forest road over the Plattnalm (1320 m, closed in
winter, or on the Waldsteig to the summit or to the Pießenhausener Hochalm (1320
m, also closed in winter).
The High plate chairlift takes you comfortably and safely
from 560 m to the 1050 m high Staffn-Alm in just 15 minutes. Or via a cleared
hiking trail (approx. 1 hour) around the Staffnberg, the forest adventure trail
with wonderful panoramic views. Also easily accessible from the Staffn-Alm.
From the Staffn Alm, hike into the high plateau area (Alpine panorama) with its alpine pastures. Winter panoramic circular hiking trail around the large Staffn (approx. 1 hour) with a fantastic view of Chiemsee and Chiemgau, as a prepared wind hiking trail.
The alpine pastures are all closed.
The Berggasthof Staffn-Alm: You can
expect: homemade cakes; Bavarian down-to-earth cuisine, homemade schnapps.
Children's playground and hang gliding launch site at the house. We have deck
chair rentals for sun seekers. Enjoy the hospitality on our sun terrace or in
the cozy, rustic atmosphere in the inn.
