Franz von Pocci and the humor Exhibition
from January 16 until Mai 23, 2021

Franz Graf von Pocci (1807 - 1876) is one of the most colorful personalities in Bavarian history. At the court of the Bavarian kings Ludwig I, Max II, and Ludwig II, his professional career took place as court music master, master of ceremonies and chamberlain. In his free time, however, he was an artistic jack-of-all-trades: Pocci was a satitist, landscape painter, draftsman, poet, composer, playwright, co-founder of a gentlemen's society in Munich, a gentle mocker, hyperactive creative and a dilettante full of self-doubt. His best-known work are the more than 40 puppet comedies about the puppet. Larifari, Franz von Pocci left innumerable caricatures and watercolors for posterity - plus 600 pieces of music.
