Directions from Seebruck about Rimsting until the entrance to Prien. On entering the town of Prien take the old road out the next exit and then come over Wildenwart and highway due to Frasdorf. When leaving, or if they continue in Achenmühle you travel up to Samerberg after Grainbach.
The restaurant at the middle station "to Kräuterhexe" with Christel Auer is open every day except Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:00 bs 18:00.
The mountain hut on the Hochries is open every day except Wednesday and Thursday.

Samerberg a beautiful hiking paradise
in Chiemgau and the
Samerberg (700 m) - ideal conditions currently prevail even for a relaxing adventure on the high Ries at Samerberg. The local mountain of Rosenheim, Munich and hikers, with its everyday driving at 9:30 am on the chairlift to the middle station and the cable car to the summit a variety of impressions. The Rosenheim Hausberg offers for young and old easy and difficult hiking opportunities, but also with the chair lift and the cable car is worth the trip to the 1569-meter summit with a stop at the Alpine Club Hochries Cottage.
Who already feeling peckish on the way up, is the right place for the cheese-Alm near the central station or at the "herb witch" at the middle station, just families with small children feel particularly well here. There are also nice playgrounds await the little ones. A stop at the newly opened "S'Park" (formerly Parkstuberl) at the base station completes the varied day trip.

Courageous climbers dare a flight with the tandem paragliding into the valley. The tariffs of Hochriesbahn stay in 2013 in the previous year. On the contrary, there are new perks: for paragliders there are now a day ticket for the train, and the family ticket is valid now for all children in the family.

Hochries cableway runs - chairlift
The ride starts with the chairlift on the Rosenheimer Hausberg, the Hochries. On the southern outskirts of Grainbach is the valley station of the Hochries chair lift (parking is subject to a fee). When driving with the one-person chairlift, you can enjoy wonderful views of the Wendelstein, over the Samerberger Hochtal down to the Rosenheim Valley and over mountain forests and alpine pastures.
Hochriesbahn - Kabinenbahn
At the end of the chairlift middle station, is the start of a ride up the gondola to the Rosenheimer Hausberg that Hochries, is at Samerberg. The Hochriesbahn has two sections. The lower section, the one chair lift, the upper section is a gondola lift.
The cable car takes you from the Central Station Ebenwald (916 m) over a distance of 1730 m in about 10 minutes to the mountain station (1542m) on the high-Ries.

Hikes on the Hochries
From the valley station to the middle station (Ebenwaldalm)
The easiest way to get from Grainbach to the plateau of the Ebenwaldalm is, of course, with the single chairlift of the Hochriesbahn. The middle station, on the Almgrund Ebenwald, can also be reached on foot in half an hour via a paved road (closed to motor vehicles).
Around the middle station at an altitude of 910 m there are flat hiking trails that lead to green mountain meadows, to the Schwarzsee and to the partially managed alpine pastures (Käseralm and Moserboden). Do you want to float silently with wonderful views of the valley after your tour? Then enjoy the ride on the Hochriesbahn-Sessellift.
From the middle station (Ebenwaldalm) to the Hochries summit
A trip to the summit of the Hochries (1569
m) is worth it!
The ride on the Hochrieskabinenbahn is the most convenient and fastest way to the summit. During the pleasant journey, you can enjoy overwhelming views. From the summit station you can reach the Hochries summit with Hochries hut and summit cross in 15 minutes.
The ascent is also possible on foot (around 750 vertical meters), but fitness and endurance are necessary.
